To give a more sophisticated touch to the internet mobile email service, Google has just launched a new web-based version of Gmail that will allow iPhone and Android users to have faster access to their messages and that will be workable when these users are offline.
This web-based Gmail version was showed off by Google last week and it also announced that it would be available on their Mobile blog. Joanne McKinley, a mobile engineer at Google says: “You would definitely find it a lot faster to perform various actions like searching, navigating and opening emails.
It will also allow you to open recent messages and compose when there is drop in data network.”
T-Mobile is already running Google’s pre-popular Android OS in one of its handsets, and now the company is also considering using the same in an array of communication devices for home in the coming days.
A confidential document, which has been received from a partner of the company, says that T-Mobile is planning to introduce a home phone as well as a tablet computer next year and they both will run on Google’s Android software.
The device to be plugged into a docking station while data synchronization will be handled with another device as the battery of the phone is recharged.
Rumor or reality, time will tell, but there are reports that Acer is going to launch an Android-powered handset in September this year.
According to a report published in the Philippine Business Mirror says that Acer has confirmed that its Android-powered handset will be available this year.
